TRUCK AND TRANSPORT MECHANIC
Truck and Transport Mechanics repair and service all makes and models of commercial trucks and equipment. They must have 3 - 5 years of truck maintenance or repair experience and possess or be working towards a journeyperson certificate. With all the latest engine, emission and electronic technology being used in transport trucks the truck and transport mechanic needs to continually complete training to keep their skills up to date. Technicians can advance into supervisory and management positions with experience and training.
The truck and transport mechanic is also known as Heavy Duty Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, Heavy Duty Service Technician, 310T Technician or a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician.
PARTS TECHNICIAN (PARTS PERSON)
Parts Technicians are responsible for sourcing and selling commercial truck parts and accessories. Parts Technicians can complete an apprenticeship and obtain their journeyperson certificate but it is not required to work in our dealerships. Typically, a Parts Technician will work as a shipper receiver or parts drvier to gain parts and warehouse knowledge and then progress into a sales position or even a supervisory or manager position with experience and training.
TRUCK SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Truck Sales Representatives are responsible for selling new and used commercial trucks and related items. No formal training is required in the position but significant industry and product knowledge and sales experience does help one be successful in this position. Compensation is based on commission.
SERVICE WRITER / ADVISOR
Service Writers or Advisors are responsible for the booking, receipt and flow of incoming work, communicating with customers and internal departments and processing payments. Service Advisors are the first point of contact in our Service Department and must greet everyone in a pleasant and friendly manner. Obtaining all the customer, repair issue and vehicle information is a critical requirement for this position. No formal training is required for this position but industry knowledge and experience are beneficial.
Warranty Administrators are responsible for preparing, reviewing and submitting warranty claims accurately and in a timely manner. They are required to gather parts, components and/or information from multiple sources both internal and external to ensure claims are processed according to manufacturer requirements so we can be paid in a timely manner. Accuracy and throughness are need to be successful in this role. No formal training is required for this position but industry knowledge and experience are beneficial.
Sales Administrators are responsible for updating our truck inventory system, processing paperwork for the sales staff and assisting the Sales Manager and marketing department with trade shows, advertising and other duties as necessary. No formal training is required for this position but industry knowledge and experience are beneficial.
Shipper Receivers are responsible for receiving goods and preparing shipments for pick up and delivery. They are required to complete shipping documents, inspect goods for damage, input received goods into our electronic inventory system and stock and restock items in the warehouse. A shipper receiver must understand and follow warehouse policies and principals and work accurately and efficiently. Shipper receivers need to possess or obtain their forklift operators license and have a good understanding of TDG regulations and requirements.
Parts Delivery Drivers are responsible for delivering and picking up goods, filling in shipping documents, completing vehicle inspections and assisting other staff and departments as necessary. Drivers must have a class 5 license and be able to lift up to forty five pounds (45lbs). Drivers are provided a company vehicle to drive and are expected to know and comply with all traffic laws and any other applicable laws like Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
